North American Director of Sales – Industrial  Products

Under the direction of the President of the North America operations, the Director is responsible for identifying opportunities and developing sales strategies for our industrial process technologies to ensure maximum sales with optimum profits in accordance with company policies and procedures. 

Key Responsibilities – Market, promotion and sell Company’s Industrial Products to customers in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Motivate, train, and develop assigned Sales Representatives/Agents. Develop and maintain effective business relationships with key personnel of major customers. Working with customer service and engineering departments to respond to request for quotations for equipment in a timely manner. Follow up equipment sales to assure proper installation and provide maintenance seminars, and technical and service support, as required. Troubleshoot customer equipment and system problems.  Recommend technical solutions that optimize equipment performance and save customers total operating costs. Develop sales opportunities that focus on flowsheet solutions with multiple equipment sets as well as single source equipment needs. Keep management informed on current market trends, competitive developments, and recommend product development  needed to fill market needs and ensure commercial and technical competitiveness. Provide feedback information needed for pricing decisions.  Support pricing position, as established Company. Attend trade shows and industry-related meetings and, as required, take responsibility for Company exhibits. Ensure product orders are accurately and expeditiously entered into the order entry system, including order commission allocations. Ensure proper, accurate records, files, data bases, etc. are maintained, as required, within areas of responsibility. Develop commodity and product expertise in the assigned specific areas. Be prepared to travel up to 50% of the time or as required to meet customer demands or business needs.   Ensure the completion of all required paperwork, records, documents, and travel reports. Promote and maintain a flexible, cooperative, team-oriented and customer-focused attitude within and between departments.  Keep President apprised of pertinent issues and information warranting management’s knowledge, action and/or resolution. Experience building, expanding and managing a dealer rep channel.

Education, Experience and Skills –Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering  highly  recommended. Engineering degrees in other fields (i.e., Metallurgical, Mining, and/or Chemical) or with equivalent education/work experience and training may be considered.  Minimum ten years’ experience in technical and direct sales, five of which to be in industrial equipment sales. Minimum of three years in a management role leading a sales team.
